Took me 4 hours to find a 2 inch bolt that rolled under the cab
Had a job out in Tulsa last Tuesday, setting a 40 ton rooftop unit. Everything going smooth until I go to hook the tag line and realize one of the mounting bolts on the cab step is gone. Just gone. Spent the whole morning crawling around the job site, raking gravel, even checked the mud flaps. Finally found it wedged between the frame rail and a hydraulic line. Could have saved myself 3 hours and a lot of dirty looks from the foreman if I just looked there first. Anyone else lose something stupid and waste half the day hunting for it?

Goodness! Lost my favorite ratchet strap last week, still haven't found it.

it's probably hiding in plain sight honestly. check the weirdest places first like inside old tarps you folded up or tangled up in a rope bag you haven't used since last fall. mine ended up under the floor mat of my truck for three weeks once because it slid off the seat and i just never noticed. also worth looking in the spare tire area of your trunk or even inside a tool box you barely open. those straps love to fall into little gaps and just sit there mocking you.

Wood, 40 ton rooftop units don't usually have mounting bolts on the cab step lol. Sounds like you were working on a crane truck or a boom truck, not the unit itself.
