Tried a new way to check my swing radius on a tight site in Tacoma

For a job downtown, I used to just eyeball it from the cab with my old method. This time, I got a cheap laser measure and set up a couple of orange cones at the exact radius before I even started. The difference was huge, I had a full foot more clearance on the blind side than I thought. Anyone else use something besides the old stick and string trick for this?

My old method was basically squinting and hoping... I once marked my radius with a traffic cone I had in the truck, then spent ten minutes looking for it after I swung the wrong way. The laser idea is pretty smart, might save me from more of my own genius.

Honestly, the fact you found the cone again is the real win here (my stuff just vanishes forever).

My garage is a black hole for tape measures and utility knives. I feel that pain of things just disappearing into thin air. It really does feel like a small victory when something turns up again.
