A photographer at a wedding showed me why my social media posts were flopping

I was at a local wedding expo in Austin last month, talking to a wedding photographer who had this huge crowd around her booth. She asked to see my portfolio and said my posts were 'too cluttered' with no clear focus. She told me to pick one style and stick with it instead of mixing everything. Has anyone else had a random stranger just nail what you were doing wrong?

Is it just me or do we all walk around with blind spots that take a total stranger to point out? I've noticed that with friends too, not just social media stuff. Like people who keep buying clothes that don't fit right just because they're cheap, but won't listen to anyone they know. Sometimes it takes someone who doesn't care about your feelings to actually help you see the problem. It's funny how we'll accept harsh truth from a stranger but brush off the same thing from our own people.

Right? Strangers see your blind spots way easier.

I've personally got a blind spot the size of a minivan when it comes to my own bad haircuts. My wife will say something's off and I'll just shrug it off, but some random lady at the grocery store tells me my part is wrong and I'm at the barber that afternoon. Maybe I just need strangers to manage my whole life, at least they'd be honest about my shirt being tucked into my underwear.
