Found a cheap way to fix a dim backlight on a TV I got from a client in Charlotte

I was working on a client's 55-inch TV that had the backlight going dim, and everyone said just swap the whole panel. Turns out a $8 LED strip kit and 20 minutes of soldering fixed it right up. Has anyone else had luck fixing electronics instead of trashing them?

Totally agree with @lilyp37, saved a 50-inch with a $10 LED strip.

Friend of mine had a 55-inch with dead LEDs and @blair_taylor32 was right, a ten dollar strip fixed it.

I remember reading a blog post from a repair shop in Texas that talked about how many LED TVs get tossed because of a single bad strip. They said it's basically planned obsolescence at work, convincing people the whole panel is fried when it's just a cheap component. That soldering iron pays for itself pretty quick when you start fixing these instead of sending them to a landfill.
