Just ate the $85 cost of a composite deck board that warped in 3 months

I went with the cheap PVC stuff from the lumber yard thinking I was saving money. Three months later the board bowed up so bad near the sliding door I nearly tripped. Replaced it with a proper capped composite from a real supplier and it's flat as day one. Has anyone else had a deck material fail on them like this before?

You tripped on a deck board once, relax.

The "you tripped on a deck board once" line is a classic. I used to do property management and saw that exact thing happen all the time. Those boards get wet and slippery, especially after a rain. Best thing is to just put down some non-slip tape or those stick-on strips near the door. Saved me from eating it more times than I can count.
