My portfolio site went down the night before a big pitch and I think the 'always use a page builder' advice is wrong
Two weeks ago my whole portfolio site crashed at 11pm, 9 hours before I was supposed to show it to a client in Chicago. I had built the thing on a drag and drop builder like everyone keeps saying to do, and when it broke I couldn't get into the code to fix anything, I just stared at a spinning wheel. I ended up rebuilding three key pages from scratch in plain HTML until 4am and somehow made the call. Everyone in my circle swears page builders are the smart move for creative pros, but I'm not buying it anymore, I'd rather own something I can actually repair. What did you do the time a tool you trusted locked you out right before a deadline?
