Shoutout to the print rep in Phoenix who told me my color proofs were trash
I sent a client logo file to a print shop in Phoenix last Tuesday and the rep called me 20 minutes later to say my colors would look muddy on paper. I had been sending RGB files to printers for 2 years and never once checked the CMYK conversion. She walked me through the numbers, my nice teal was coming out at like 40% gray on the proof. I reworked the whole file, sent it back, and the final print matched my screen almost exactly. Now I run every file through a conversion check before it leaves my desk, takes 3 minutes. Has anyone else had a printer catch something your own setup completely missed?
