That referral bonus check from last quarter still hasn't cleared and I'm getting nervous
I sent over a solid lead to a videographer friend in Austin back in February, he landed a $15,000 project, but the brokerage firm keeps saying the payment is delayed because of some compliance review - has anyone else seen referral checks just vanish like that?

Has this whole compliance thing become the new way companies just hold onto money and hope you forget about it? Honestly, I've noticed a pattern everywhere now. It feels like every business has some excuse these days to delay paying people what they're owed. Whether it's a referral bonus, a refund, or even a simple invoice, there's always some "review" or "process" that takes forever. Ngl, it's pretty frustrating how common it's gotten.

Oh man, it's even worse than that. Companies are using "compliance" to dodge taxes too by sitting on money until the fiscal year rolls over.
