The ink mix I learned at a Denver print shop last Thursday
I was at a small print shop in Denver watching them match a spot color for a client's logo. The guy running the press mentioned he starts with a base of 80% PMS 185 and builds up from there instead of dumping straight red. I tried it on my own project that night, and the color came out way more consistent across different paper stocks. It's such a simple trick for a problem I've fought for years. Has anyone else got a color matching habit that saves them time?
