The week I landed a $12k client and lost a $5k client on the same Tuesday

Last month I had a Tuesday that was basically a creative pro's version of a roller coaster. Got a call at 9 AM from a new agency in Austin wanting me to shoot their product line for $12k. Felt on top of the world. Fast forward to 2 PM and my biggest ongoing client emails me saying they're pausing all content work because of budget cuts. That was $5k a month gone just like that. I sat there for an hour wondering if I should celebrate or stress. Ended up doing both. Has anyone else had a day where the wins and losses hit at the same time like that? How do you handle the mental shift in the moment?

Yeah @danielnelson, that's probably true but my friend had something similar happen. She's a graphic designer and on one Monday she signed a $10k rebrand project with a brewery, then two hours later her steady gym apparel client cut her monthly retainer of $4k. She texted me a photo of her lunch which was just a sad granola bar, said she didn't know if it was a celebration snack or a stress snack. Ended up just sitting in her car listening to sad pump up music for like twenty minutes before she could even respond to either email.

Right there with you @danielnelson, had a similar Tuesday where I gained a retainer and lost a retainer in the same damn hour.
