Always shrugged off horror prompts until the neighborhood story swap
Hearing how people turned everyday spooky sounds into tales changed my view. I'm now drafting my own based on a local legend.

My cuz did a story swap in Portland last yr. He figured out the real spook came from his own memories, not the local lore. Maybe toss in some personal stuff to up the creep factor.

Awkwardness can be the perfect creepy detail though. It makes the memory feel real.

Janah83's cousin in Portland nailed it, we're always looking for the big scary story when the real one is already in our head. Makes you notice how often we brush off our own weird memories.
