Bought a $120 'idea generator' app that just spits out the same five cliches

I was stuck on a story and thought it would help, but it basically gave me 'a detective with a dark past' and 'a hidden magical world' over and over. Has anyone found a prompt tool that actually sparks something new?

Total waste of money, those apps are scams. They just recycle the same basic plots from old books and movies. Honestly, just people-watch at a coffee shop or scroll through weird news stories. Real life is way weirder than any app. You'll get better ideas from a five minute conversation with a stranger.
