Found a goldmine of story ideas watching people at a laundromat

Last Tuesday I had to kill an hour while my stuff dried at Spin Cycle Laundromat on 4th Street. There was this one lady who kept checking her phone every 30 seconds like she was waiting for bad news. Another guy was folding his clothes super slow, almost like he didn't want to go home. It got me thinking - what stories are hiding in plain sight behind these little everyday moments. Has anyone else tried people watching in random places for prompt ideas?

Started writing down little details about people at coffee shops and honestly it's wild how much you can pull from just watching how someone stirs their drink or stares out the window.

Kinda creepy to turn strangers into characters in your story without them knowing though.
