Rant: Old library cards sparked more stories than any app today
I've found that flipping through a dusty box of library cards used to give me weird, specific ideas. Now, everything feels too planned out and samey, which just kills the fun for me. Your mileage may vary.

Ugh, my brain is so bad at taking cool wrong turns like that. It just takes naps instead. But for real, those old library cards had that beautiful random chaos algorithms just kill dead. Now everything feels like being handed a map where someone already circled the destination, you know? The fun was in getting totally lost.

Totally get that about the maps. Modern algorithms just remove the chance of finding something you didn't know you wanted. The whole point was the weird side quest, not the direct route.

Dig up what exactly sparked those ideas.

Where do my ideas come from? Usually from me missing the point entirely. For example, I once read "code review" as "coat review" and wrote a whole thing about winter jackets. @michaeltorres, that's the spark right there. My brain just takes wrong turns and calls it innovation.
