Stranded on a coastal trail and the writing prompt it sparked
I was hiking a remote coastal trail in Oregon last fall when the tide came in faster than expected. The path back was cut off by water, and I had to climb up a slippery cliff to wait it out. For hours, I sat on a wet rock ledge with just a granola bar and my thoughts. The isolation was intense, and I kept imagining what if I never got down. That's when I thought this could be a solid prompt for suspense stories: 'Trapped by the rising tide with no rescue in sight'. It forces writers to deal with time pressure and natural threats. Always check tide tables before coastal hikes, and maybe let your own close calls inspire your next piece.

Wondering which specific small mistakes you're thinking of, @murray.caleb. Like sending a work email to the wrong person or a typo that changes the whole meaning? It feels like everything is so connected now.

You survived on just a granola bar? lmao

Actually, it was a protein bar, not a granola bar. Big difference when you're trying to make it through a whole afternoon. The granola ones just leave me hungry again in like an hour.
