That writing app I dropped $60 on last year still sits unused

I bought some fancy novel writing software thinking it would magically make me finish a draft. Turns out Google Docs and a deadline work way better for me. Anyone else got a tool they bought for their writing that just collects dust?

Did they promise it would also do your laundry? I bought one of those "smart" notebooks that syncs to the cloud, and now it just sits there judging me for using Post-its. At least Google Docs doesn't have a guilt-trip feature.

Read somewhere that one of those notebook companies actually tried to add a "focus mode" that dims the page if you don't write for a while. Like, the notebook is gonna guilt you into being productive. Google Docs just sits there quietly until I accidentally close it without saving, which is honestly way more forgiving. My smart notebook ended up in a drawer after day one, but at least Post-its don't complain when I ignore them for a week. The whole thing felt like a solution looking for a problem nobody really had.

Threw mine in a drawer too. Regular paper and a cheap scanner app got the job done way better.
