Tried writing a noir detective scene and my character grabbed the wrong drink

I was at a diner off I-80 near Des Moines last week trying to write a gritty bar scene, but I accidentally had my detective order a chocolate milkshake instead of whiskey. Now the whole mood is shot and I don't know how to fix it without rewriting from scratch. Anyone else ever mess up a small detail that threw off their whole story vibe?

Honestly, that's such a relatable mistake, I'd just lean into the absurdity and make it a quirky character trait.

Yeah @jennifer833, I started calling my character a chaos gremlin and it totally worked out.
