Hit 760 credit score today and it felt like a glitch

I've been grinding on my credit for like 2 years after some dumb mistakes in my 20s. Started at 580 with a bunch of collections. Paid off a $340 medical bill from 2018 that was sitting there. Also asked for a $500 limit increase on my oldest card from Capital One. Checked Credit Karma this morning and saw 760 and had to refresh twice. It matters because I applied for a car loan last week and got denied at 680. Now I'm wondering if I should wait a month to apply for that loan again or just go for it now. Anyone else have your score jump way faster than you expected after paying off one old debt?

That one painting company near me had 47 applicants for a single helper position last month and only 2 of them showed up for the interview. The rest just ghosted or never even replied to the confirmation text. So yeah apply now if you want but actually follow through or you're just wasting everyone's time lol. A lot of places are so desperate for workers they'll hire anyone with a pulse, but then people don't even bother to show up. It's like the tables have completely turned from a few years ago when you had to fight for every interview.

Right? "Hire anyone with a pulse" is the perfect way to put it. I've seen pizza places with a sign in the window for months, literally begging for drivers, and they'll take someone who shows up in Crocs. But 47 applicants and only 2 actually come in? That's not a hiring problem, that's a "people just clicking submit while they're on the toilet" problem. Like, did they think applying was a magic spell that makes money appear? You gotta at least show up and look them in the eye. What's the point of even hitting send if you're not gonna follow through?
