Hit 800 credit score and felt nothing

Spent two years paying down $12k in cards and never missed a payment. Finally hit 800 on Experian last month and it just felt like a number. Am I the only one who expected more from this milestone?

Yeah but what were you expecting exactly? It's just a number that means you're good at paying your bills. I hit 780 and didn't even notice because who really checks their score every month? The payoff is having peace of mind and not stressing over late fees and interest rates. That feels better than any number on a screen.

Huh, you might be overthinking this whole score thing (and I'm saying that as someone who's definitely guilty of it myself). The real flex is just not stressing about money, not obsessing over some number that lenders probably glance at for two seconds. Peace of mind from being debt-free is way more valuable than hitting some arbitrary milestone on a credit report.

I read somewhere that once you hit 800 it doesn't really matter because lenders mostly just see you as a low risk regardless if it's 780 or 820. There's no special prize or discount code or anything. I mean, the real win is you paid off $12k and that's a huge deal on its own. The number is just proof you did the hard part. Maybe it's just me but I think we get so focused on the score that we forget the actual financial freedom part. Peace of mind from no debt is way better than any number on a screen.
