I swore that $75 credit repair letter was a scam, then my score jumped 84 points in 7 weeks
Two years ago a guy in Phoenix told me to pay $75 for a dispute letter service and I laughed at him. I figured it was just a template I could write myself for free. My score sat at 612 for 14 months because of a $220 medical bill I never got a notice for. I finally paid the $75 out of pure frustration in March, mostly to prove it would not work. Seven weeks later the collection fell off and my score hit 696. Now I cannot decide if I got lucky with one account or if these services actually know which disputes banks fold on. Did anyone else pay for one of these and get a real result, or did it flop for you?
