Just realized my credit score jumped 48 points overnight

I checked Credit Karma on a whim Tuesday morning and saw my score went from 682 to 730. Turns out paying off a $2,300 balance on my store card before the statement hit was the trick. Has anyone else seen a big jump from lowering utilization right before the closing date?

Wow, "48 points" and "730" in one night? That's wild. I've been messing with my credit for years and never saw a jump that big. The most I ever got was like 22 points from paying off a $1,200 balance on my gas card right before the statement closed. But 48 points from $2,300, that's a whole different level. I'm honestly a little jealous, my score usually crawls up by like 5 or 10 points when I make a move.

Oh that timing trick is everything... I had the same thing happen with my Amazon card. Paid off like $1,800 a day before the closing date and my score shot up 42 points. It's wild how much that utilization thing matters right when they snapshot it.

Wait did you pay it all off right before the statement cut, or did you do it right when the statement posted?

Pay off before the statement cut" is the cheat code for real. Did that with my Best Buy card and saw a 35 point jump like magic.
