Just realized that annual fee card I kept for 3 years was a total waste

I paid $95 a year for a Capital One card I barely used because I thought keeping it open helped my credit age. That's $285 down the drain for something my no-fee cards do just fine. Anyone else sit down and actually add up what their 'keeper' cards cost them?

@the_anthony right there with you, I did the same math on my old Barclays card and nearly fell off my chair. $285 is such a bummer but at least you caught it now instead of another 3 years.

Just set up automatic alerts and stop checking the numbers so often.
