My credit score dropped 40 points last month because of a stupid mistake I made three years ago in Denver.

I had a Denver parking ticket hit my report after two years. Disputed it as obsolete with the credit bureaus and it came off in 30 days.

Wait, that actually works? @the_tyler, I had the same thing with an old library fine from like three years ago. Sent a dispute letter saying it was too old to be on there, and it was gone before my next statement even came. These cities just toss stuff at the bureaus hoping it sticks... feels good to get one wiped clean.

Ever notice how they bank on us not fighting back?

Did you try disputing the whole thing? My buddy in Ohio had an old utility bill from like five years ago pop up and tank his score. He just wrote to the credit bureau saying it was past the statute of limitations and poof, gone in three weeks. Didn't even need to talk to the original company or nothing. It's wild how fast those automated systems just delete stuff if you tick the right box.
