My credit score hit 760 for the first time today

I checked my FICO score from Experian and it was exactly 760. I've been paying down a card from Capital One for about eight months. It matters because I'm looking at houses and that number should help me get a better rate. Has anyone else seen a jump like this after focusing on one card?

Oh nice, congrats on the score! Just a heads up though, mortgage lenders usually pull a different report, like your FICO 2, 4, or 5. So that Experian number might be a little different from what they actually see.

Yeah, @kelly385 is totally right about that. I was so confused when my mortgage score was lower than my Experian one. I ended up just asking the lender which exact score they used so I could check it myself first.

Nice one on the score, but yeah after reading what @kelly385 said I'm just picturing the lender being like "cool story, here's the real number we use" lol. It's like getting all excited for one test score only to find out the class is graded on a totally different curve. Still, paying down that card is huge and will definitely help, even if the exact digits do a little dance.
