Rant: Hit 760 credit score and still got denied for a card

I finally got my score up to 760 after two years of paying off debt, but Capital One turned me down for their Savor card last week because my credit history is too short. What's the point of a good score if lenders still say no based on something I can't rush?

Wait are you serious? A 760 score is REALLY good and they still turned you down? That's so frustrating I completely feel your pain on this one. Credit scoring is such a messed up system where they dangle a high number in front of you like a prize but then still laugh in your face over something totally out of your control. I had the same thing happen with Chase last year my score was like 770 but they said my oldest account was only 3 years old and that wasn't enough. It makes you wonder why we bother sweating over points when they just move the goalposts anyway. Keep your head up though sometimes it's really just about finding the right lender that values what you have right now.

@avery_jackson, how did you even find out your oldest account length was the reason Chase said no? I always just get a vague "too new of credit history" and zero specifics.

It's like those reward programs where you jump through hoops and still can't get the good stuff.
