Hit 500 unique passwords in my manager today

I was just cleaning up old entries in my password manager and noticed it hit exactly 500 logins. That number surprised me because I only started keeping track a year ago when I got that breach alert from my email. Most of them are junk accounts I signed up for once, maybe 30 are actually important like banking and work stuff. How many do you guys have in yours, and do you bother deleting the old ones or just let them pile up?

Get rid of the old ones. Having 500 logins sitting there is just asking for trouble if one of those sites gets breached. You only need to keep the ones you actually use or care about. Deleting them takes a bit of time but its way less hassle than dealing with a hacked account later. Start with the junk ones first, most of them are probably from sites you forgot existed anyway. You'll feel better having a clean list even if it takes an afternoon.

heard a buddy went through his password manager last month and found like 800 accounts. half of them were from free trials he forgot to cancel lol. he just let em sit there cause deleting feels like too much effort.

That's honestly terrifying but I bet a ton of people are in the same boat. Even if you know youve got hundreds of old accounts sitting around, going through and deleting each one just feels like a part time job nobody wants. Gotta wonder how many of those sites have already been breached and your info is just floating around out there now.
