More apps ask for my fingerprint instead of a password. Cool feature or risky habit?

It makes logging in quicker. But I'm worried about my fingerprint info getting hacked, what do you all think?

On my banking app, I still use a password instead of my fingerprint. If someone gets your print, you can't just reset it like a code. So I save biometrics for social media and keep finances on old-school logins.

That's a solid point from @dakota415 about not being able to reset a fingerprint. Does your bank app at least let you use a really long passcode instead of a short PIN? That could be a decent middle ground for keeping things safe but still quick to use.

You ever worry more about smudging your phone screen than someone stealing your print? I push so many buttons my thumb is basically public domain.

My phone's lock screen is a greasy mess by noon. I've probably left my thumbprint on every surface in the city. At this point, my biometrics are more of a public service than a security feature.
