My neighbor said his bank account got drained because he used the same password for his email and his online banking.

Honestly, password managers are just another single point of failure. If that master password gets out, you lose everything at once. I'd rather trust my own memory for a few key variations.

My buddy's PayPal got hit the same way last year. Hackers got his email password and just reset everything linked to it. A password manager is the only way to keep track of unique ones for every site.

Ever hear about my friend who had his Netflix account taken over? They used that same password to get into his Amazon and bought a bunch of stuff. That's exactly why using the same one everywhere is such a bad idea.
