My phone got hacked because I used the same password for everything

I used the same password for my email, bank, and everything else for like 8 years until someone got into my Instagram and started sending weird links to my friends. That finally made me realize I needed a password manager, anyone else just use the same password forever?

Man, that's exactly what happened to me. I had one master password for everything and when my email got breached they cleaned out my PayPal and ordered stuff from Amazon before I even noticed. Now I use Bitwarden and just let it generate random garbage for every account, way less stress than trying to remember 50 different passwords.

Oh man, that's so true! It's like we all think we're invincible until something actually happens. I notice this pattern everywhere now, not just with passwords. People leave their garage doors open all day, share their location on social media, swipe their card without covering the PIN pad. We get so comfortable with convenience that we forget how fast things can go wrong. Bitwarden sounds like a lifesaver, I should probably switch myself because my current setup is basically just using my dog's name with a 1 at the end.

Did Bitwarden catch your breach or did you just get lucky?
