Pro tip: My password manager was doing all the work, but I was still the weak link
I was setting up a new smart plug and, out of habit, I almost typed my master password into the device's own app instead of using the autofill from my manager (which would have been way safer). It hit me that I was still making it easy for a fake app to steal my most important password, you know? How do you guys make sure you never get lazy about using the autofill feature?

Honestly, I set my password manager to lock after like 30 seconds of not using it. Forces me to open it again for every single login, so I can't even get into the habit of typing anything manually. It's a pain at first, but now my brain just connects logging in with opening the app.

Sounds like a great way to make logging in feel like a full time job. I guess the upside is you'll never forget your master password from sheer repetition. The security is solid but the annoyance level is truly impressive.

@bennett.evan I set mine to lock after a minute and still manage to forget the master password by Tuesday. Guess I'm the kind of guy who needs a sticky note on the monitor just to keep my own security system from locking me out.

Actually find it becomes second nature pretty fast. I just tap my fingerprint to unlock the manager, then autofill does the rest. Takes maybe two seconds extra and feels way safer than reusing passwords.
