Saw an office lobby with sticky notes all over the monitors last week

I was at a co-working space in Austin for a meeting and noticed every computer screen in the lobby had bright yellow sticky notes stuck to the frames. People wrote their login passwords right there on the notes. Names like "Sarah - Password123" and "Mike - Summer2024" were just sitting there for anyone to see. One lady walked away from her desk and her monitor was unlocked with the sticky note right next to it. I could have walked over and grabbed anything from her email to client files. It made me wonder how many small offices keep this kind of stuff lying around without thinking. Has anyone else walked into a place and spotted security gaps like this just sitting in plain sight?

Makes you realize most people just assume security is someone else's problem.

Bet that 30% is actually higher but people just won't admit it (like me finding my coworker's password under their keyboard last week).

Read a survey last year that said like 30% of office workers admit to writing passwords on sticky notes. That Austin place sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
