Shoutout to my uncle who told me to stop using the same password for everything
My uncle used to bug me all the time about using "Password123" for every single account I had. He's in IT so I figured he was just being dramatic lol. Last month my Spotify account got hacked out of nowhere and someone started playing some random Polish rap playlist at full volume at 2 AM. I went to change the password and realized I had that same password on my bank account, my email, everything. It took me like 3 hours to go through and change every single login I had. My bank was fine but honestly it scared me straight. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you been super lazy with passwords and had to fix everything at once?

The "random Polish rap at 2 AM" part killed me because that's exactly the kind of wake up call nobody wants. I got hit the same way a few years back when someone got into my old Tumblr account and started posting weird spam links. That forced me to finally get a password manager app on my phone. Honestly it changed everything. Now I just let it generate random long passwords for every site and I only have to remember one master password. I know it sounds like extra work but it saved me from having to manually change dozens of accounts like you did. Did you end up going the password manager route or are you just sticking with writing them down somewhere?

Yeah I tried a password manager, then forgot my master password. Still recovering.

Gotta say @rowan969, forgetting the master password is such a classic IT move. Laughing with you, not at you dude.
