Tried a password manager for the first time after 2FA lockout, what a mess
So last Tuesday I got locked out of my email because I lost the phone with my authenticator app and somehow my backup codes were saved on that same phone. Dumb, I know. A coworker at my office in Austin kept telling me to use a password manager for months. I finally downloaded Bitwarden and imported everything. Turns out I had the same password for 14 different accounts, including my bank. The import was fine, but the part I didn't expect was how many sites I had to manually log into again because they didn't detect the new password. Took me a whole evening. Has anyone else dealt with the initial cleanup being way more annoying than they thought? And how do you handle backup codes now without repeating my mistake?
