Turned on 2FA after my Steam account got hijacked last month
I used to think two-factor authentication was just an extra hassle. I mean, who has time to grab their phone every time you log in to something? Then last month someone got into my Steam account and tried to buy $80 worth of skins using my linked PayPal. The only reason I caught it was because my bank texted me about the charge. Spent the next 3 hours on the phone with Steam support and my bank getting everything reversed. Now I have 2FA turned on for everything that offers it, my email, my bank, even my gaming accounts. The peace of mind is totally worth the extra 10 seconds. Has anyone else had a close call that finally made them lock things down?

Three of my friends had their gaming accounts drained before they finally turned on 2FA and I think it's crazy how some people still use one password for everything. The hijackers rely on people being lazy with security because they know most accounts get breached through reused passwords with no extra layer of protection. Once you set 2FA up everywhere it honestly becomes second nature and I can't imagine going back.

@nancyj11 hit the nail on the head about people being lazy. I had a buddy who used the same password for everything including his email and his gaming accounts, and honestly I think the only thing stopping him from getting wrecked is pure dumb luck. The irony is that you spend 10 seconds typing in a code from your phone and suddenly you're a security expert, but it's just common sense after you've had your stuff stolen.
