Why does nobody talk about the public Wi-Fi at the Denver airport being a total sketch-fest?

Honestly, I saw the login page ask for my email and birthdate just to connect, which seems like a data grab, but some folks argue that's normal for airport networks now.

Just use your phone's hotspot. I never trust those open networks.

Right? My phone's hotspot is a total lifesaver. I used it at a coffee shop last week when their Wi-Fi was crawling. It's way faster and I don't have to worry about some weirdo on the same network seeing what I'm doing. The battery drains quicker, but that's a fair trade for feeling secure.

Ugh, it's not just airports! Everywhere feels like a data collection trap now, from the mall to the doctor's office. Makes you just want to stay offline.
