Booked a client for a patio install and showed up with the wrong pavers

Honestly, I drove 45 minutes to a job in Fairfield last Tuesday and unloaded my trailer only to realize I grabbed a pallet of gray flagstone instead of the bluestone the client picked out. My brain just skipped over the label at the yard and I loaded the wrong stack without double checking. I had to call my supplier, beg for a rush swap, and eat a $150 delivery fee to get the right stuff there by noon. Has anyone else made a bonehead material mix up that cost you time and money?

Man, have you been beating yourself up over this? I totally get it though... those labels at the yard can blur together when you're in a hurry. I once grabbed a box of standard staples for a stapler instead of the heavy duty ones for a client's big project and had to drive all the way back after realizing my mistake. That $150 fee stings but at least you caught it before you started laying them down, that would've been way worse. Stuff like this happens to the best of us when we're rushing around trying to get everything done... it's just part of the learning curve I guess.

Because that's exactly what I've done before, and I used to think people were being too hard on themselves about this kind of stuff.
