Can we talk about the choice to keep or sell a family home?
My grandma's place in Akron sat empty for 2 years after she passed, and we couldn't decide what to do. Letting it go felt like losing a piece of her, but the upkeep was draining our savings. How do you weigh the emotional cost against the financial reality?

Ever notice how we hold onto places like they're the people we miss? That house in Akron wasn't just a building, it was your whole childhood with her in it. But an empty house is a ghost, and ghosts are expensive to keep. Sometimes letting the place go is how you finally keep the good memories safe, without the leaky roof and the property tax bills.

Ghosts are expensive to keep" is so true. We did the same with my aunt's house, and the property taxes alone were killing us. Letting it go was the only way to stop the financial bleed.
