Heard a stranger say 'good for you' at the gym, actually meant it

I was struggling through my last set of squats at the YMCA in Portland, and a guy waiting for the rack just nodded and said that. It hit me that we're all just out here doing stuff, and a tiny bit of acknowledgment can flip a rough day around. Anyone else have a random comment that stuck with you longer than it should?

Read somewhere that strangers are nicer to each other than we think, some study about brief interactions. That gym moment sounds like the exact thing they were talking about. One real comment can honestly outweigh ten fake ones from people who know you.
