I finally walked out of a D&D session last night and I don't regret it.
We were four hours into a session at my buddy's basement in Arlington. The DM kept railroading us into this creepy merchant's shop for loot, and my rogue tried to pickpocket him. The DM had the merchant turn into a lich and insta-kill me, no save, no dice roll. I just stood up, grabbed my bag, and left. The table went totally silent. Nobody texted me after either. Has anyone else just walked out mid-game when the DM got too power-hungry?

Honestly I did the same thing last year with this DM who kept giving enemies immunity to anything my warlock tried. He literally said my spells just "fizzled out" because the bad guy was too powerful. I just packed up my dice and left without saying a word. Sometimes you gotta just bounce when it stops being fun.
