Pro tip: I just wasted $40 on a 'quick fix' car wash kit that scratched my paint.

Has anyone found a good way to fix light scratches without making it worse?

Wait, you used an old t-shirt for polish?

Ugh, been there. My last attempt involved a random bottle of polish and an old t-shirt, which basically just moved the scratches around. I had decent luck with a proper scratch remover kit, but you have to follow the steps exactly and work in small sections. The key is using the right pad for the polish, not the one you use for wax.

Honestly used to grab whatever was in the garage for scratches. Watched a detailer friend fix a clear coat haze on my fender with a proper dual-action polisher and the right compound. Changed my whole view. Now I just use a basic hand applicator pad and a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Compound for light stuff. Works way better than old rags and random products, right?

You ever try using a microfiber towel damp with water after the compound? I've found that gives a little extra cut without being too aggressive on the clear coat. Meguiar's Ultimate Compound is solid, I've used it a ton on my own vehicles. Just make sure you're not pressing too hard with your hand pad, let the product do the work and you avoid swirling it back up.
