Shoutout to finally hitting 1000 unread emails

Honestly, I opened my inbox this morning and the counter actually said 1,001. Ngl, it hit me that I've been avoiding dealing with this for over a year, just archiving the scary ones. It's not even all spam, a bunch are probably old client questions I never answered. How do you even start cleaning up a mess that big without wanting to delete the whole account? Has anyone actually conquered an inbox this backed up?

Actually, that unread count is a badge of honor showing you have better things to do. Most of those emails are useless anyway and don't need a reply. Starting fresh with a new address is way easier than sorting through a year of digital junk.

Wait, you would just abandon an email address you've had for a year? What about all the accounts you signed up for with it? Don't you lose access to everything when you can't get the password reset emails? That sounds like a huge headache to me, way worse than a full inbox. I'd spend months trying to remember what I used that old address for.

Sorting through them slowly actually feels pretty good once you start.
