The $8 rotisserie chicken that made me quit meal planning

I used to spend every Sunday mapping out dinners for the week, but after grabbing a cheap cooked bird from the Kroger near my place in Nashville, I noticed my food waste dropped by half in about a month. The question is whether convenience should beat the cost of buying fresh ingredients every few days, or if planning ahead still wins for people with tighter budgets. Has anyone else swapped their whole grocery routine after one spur of the moment purchase?

Same thing happened to me last month. Grabbed one on a whim and now it's a weekly staple, we just shred it and throw it on salads or tacos for three days straight. Sunday meal prep went right out the window and honestly I don't miss it one bit.
