The grocery store line choice used to be simple
Three years ago, I'd grab a cart and just get in the shortest line, no question. Last month, I stood there for a full minute deciding between the fast cashier with the full belt and the self-checkout with the '10 items or less' sign. Last week, I actually picked the longer line because the cashier looked less tired and I wanted a human interaction. It's a tiny thing, but it feels like the whole 'efficiency vs. connection' debate happens every Tuesday now at Food Fair. Anyone else overthink the checkout lane?

Honestly, I think people are making this way too deep. It's a checkout line, not a life philosophy test. My Food Fair has the same self-checkout machines that scream at me every time I breathe wrong, so I just pick the lane with the fewest old people and call it a day. Sitting there for a full minute debating "efficiency vs. connection" feels like something you'd do if you had way too much time on your hands. Just grab a cart, pick a lane, and go. It's not that serious.
