The neighborhood park bench that used to be my thinking spot
There's a bench by the old oak tree at the park near my place on Maple Street. Back in 2015 I could sit there at 7pm and it was just me and the squirrels. Now every night there's a group of guys with speaker boxes and someone cooking on a portable grill, which is fine but it's not the quiet I need when I'm wrestling with whether to tell my brother he's being an idiot with his business loan. The city added lights last spring and that brought the crowd. I don't blame them, I'd probably hang out there too if I was twenty. Has anyone else lost their go-to thinking corner and had to find a new one? Where do you go now when you need to sort out a hard call without your phone buzzing every two minutes?

Ugh, the betrayal of a good thinking bench is real! I had a spot by the creek and now it's a pickleball court, so I feel your pain. I've resorted to sitting in my car in the library parking lot like a weirdo, which honestly might be worse.
