Tried washing my car at home vs paying $25 at the do-it-yourself bay... never again

I figured how hard can it be to just fill a bucket and use the garden hose? Took me 2 hours, used 5 buckets of water, and still had soap streaks all over the windows when it dried. The next week I drove down to the DIY car wash on Elm Street and paid $25 for their pressure washer and foam brush. Took me 15 minutes and the car looked way cleaner. Has anyone else wasted a Saturday afternoon trying to save a few bucks only to realize the pro setup just works better?

Tried the home car wash once and my car ended up looking like a dalmatian with all the water spots lmao. Then I ran out of hot water halfway through because my water heater couldn't keep up, so I was dunking a sponge in lukewarm bucket water like some kind of medieval peasant. The worst part was when I went to dry it with a bath towel and left little fuzzies all over the hood. $25 for 15 minutes of actual clean results sounds like a steal compared to that circus show I put on in my driveway.

That's the thing nobody talks about though @karenh56 - you can read every warning a hundred times and still not get it until life smacks you upside the head with it. Sometimes the hard lessons are the only ones that actually stick because they force you to change your whole approach. I think that's why people who learned it the easy way tend to forget it faster than we do.
