Update: My neighbor's cat got stuck in my garage rafters in Denver

I heard meowing from above my car last Tuesday and found Mittens, a fluffy orange cat, perched on a beam 12 feet up. I debated for an hour whether to call animal control or try to coax her down myself with tuna. I ended up using a ladder and a box, and she jumped in after 15 minutes. Has anyone else had a pet rescue situation where you weren't sure the right way to help?

My cousin in Phoenix had a parrot get tangled in some old Christmas lights in their attic. They tried a towel and gloves but the bird kept biting. Ended up having to call a local bird rescue group who sent a guy with a special net. Took him twenty minutes to get it free without hurting its wings. Sometimes you really do need the pros.

Calling animal control would have been the smarter, safer move for everyone.

Smarter move" is why they don't let me plan the escape room trips.
