Vent: My grandmothers recipe box vs the internet
Last week I tried to look up a quick dinner idea on my phone and got lost in ads and popups for 10 minutes. I grabbed my grandma's recipe box from 1982 on my shelf and had a perfect casserole picked out in 30 seconds. Anyone else feel like old handwritten stuff just works better than scrolling through blogs?

Those 47 popups trying to sell me a casserole pan were real helpful, grandma just wrote "bake at 350" and called it a day.

Whoa, wait a second, @vera_lewis2, I feel that so hard. I pulled out my own grandma's recipe box last weekend and found a meatloaf recipe that just says "cook till it smells done." No temperature, no timer, nothing. And you know what? It came out perfect. Meanwhile I spent fifteen minutes earlier that day fighting with a website that wanted me to sign up for a newsletter just to see a simple chili recipe. It's like the internet is designed to make you work for something that a little handwritten card can tell you in two seconds flat.
