Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to pick a weekend hobby
I was sitting in my garage last Saturday looking at a half-finished birdhouse and a dusty bike helmet wondering which one I should focus on. For like 3 years now I bounce between woodworking and cycling but never get good at either because I keep switching. Last month I spent $80 on new chisels and then didn't touch them for two weeks because I went on a long ride instead. My buddy Mike said I just need to commit to one thing but every time I try I feel like I'm missing out on the other. It's like a daily dilemma where I gotta decide which hobby gets my Sunday morning and I always second-guess myself. Does anyone else deal with this back and forth or am I just too indecisive?

Nah man, having two hobbies sounds like a good problem to have honestly.

Wait, are you me? I've got a half-finished leather wallet from 2022 sitting next to a bag of climbing gear I bought during a phase that lasted all of three weekends.

Dude the climbing gear phase got me too. Bought a harness and quickdraws after watching some youtube video and used them exactly once at a gym. And I still have that half-finished cross stitch project from 2021 sitting in a drawer. Its like we all have these starter kits for a life we thought we'd live but never actually do.
