Just wasted $35 on a 'smart' bird feeder that can't tell a squirrel from a pigeon

Bought this thing online called the BirdBrain Pro last weekend thinking it'd identify birds and tweet pics to me. First day a fat squirrel climbed up, ate all the seed, and the app logged it as a 'rare cardinal sighting' lol. Second day a pigeon showed up and it counted as three visits from something called a 'blue jay variant.' I already threw the box out so can't return it. Anyone else fall for one of these gimmick gadgets that just do the opposite of what they promise?

That "rare cardinal sighting" bit says everything about how tech companies rush half-baked stuff out the door nowadays.

You nailed it with that 'rare cardinal sighting' line. My buddy actually dropped $200 on one of those fancy feeders and the app kept calling every blue jay a 'rare mountain bluebird' or something. He got so excited one night, ran to the window with his coffee, and it was just a fat squirrel on the sensor. The thing literally cannot tell a bird from a falling leaf half the time. He finally just unplugged it and went back to a regular platform feeder with a cheap camera.

Did you see that article about how half these "smart" feeders just use basic motion sensors and a random picture database? Sounds like yours is just guessing and getting it wrong.
