My garage shelf gave out at 2 AM and took down my snow blower

I was out in the garage last Thursday grabbing a bag of salt for the driveway when the metal bracket on a cheap shelf just snapped. Snow blower, two bags of peat moss, and a bin of Christmas lights all came crashing down around me. The snow blower landed on its side and the pull cord got jammed, so I spent an hour in the cold untangling that mess. I ended up drilling a new bracket into the studs with some heavy duty L-brackets and it feels solid now. Anyone else have a storage fail that turned into a Saturday project?

Man that's just the universe testing your 2 AM problem solving skills, hope you had a good headlamp for that pull cord debacle. Honestly though, if the snow blower was aiming for you, you probably earned a free upgrade to a heavy duty shelf system after that near miss. At least now you've got a solid excuse to flex about drilling into studs like a pro.

Yeah the 2 AM problem solving skills are real, my headlamp battery died halfway through.

Wait, you were actually in the garage when it all came crashing down? That must have been terrifying, especially at 2 AM with the snow blower almost taking you out. I'm glad you weren't hurt worse than just the pull cord jam.
